Cathedral screening, atmospheric setting
Overview
A large freestanding screen was installed within the nave of Coventry Cathedral for a special screening of Jekyll & Hydein April 2022. Audience seating was arranged facing the temporary cinema setup, with the cathedral’s scale and architectural detail framing the event.
Photographing the screening meant balancing low ambient light with the strong contrast from the projected image. I focused on the relationship between screen glow and audience attention, while retaining the depth and structure of the interior space.
The coverage documents a film event shaped by its setting — a historic cathedral temporarily adapted into a contemporary screening venue.
