Exhibition, Gold Ticket & Private View
Overview
but Home Of Metal exhibition in Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery wins by quite some margin. Design team Studio Myerscough transformed the Gas Hall of Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery to create a stunning multi faceted exhibition featuring fan memorabilia and band members' personal items to tell the story of heavy metal and its incredible impact on popular culture.
Home of Metal unfolded beyond exhibition walls. In addition to documenting the curated displays and archival material, I photographed the wider programme, including the Gold Ticket event and Private View gathering that brought artists, contributors and audiences together. The commission required coverage of both installation and atmosphere. I focused on artwork presentation, guest interaction and the shift from daytime exhibition viewing to evening reception. As a Birmingham-based event photographer, I worked between structured gallery documentation and more informal moments of conversation and celebration. The coverage reflects not only the exhibition itself, but the full programme that shaped Home of Metal as a live cultural event.
