Green backlight and drifting smoke set a deliberate tone before the first riff hit. The aesthetic leaned into gothic theatrics, with props, makeup and shadow shaping the frame as much as the music. Wednesday 13 held centre stage, using exaggerated gesture and controlled pacing to build atmosphere.

Photographing this 2023 date meant working through low light and heavy contrast. As a UK live music photographer, I focused on silhouette, expression and the interplay between costume detail and stage shadow. Timing was critical as lighting cues shifted quickly between tracks.

The performance was structured but theatrical, driven as much by character as by volume.
