Deep violet and blue washes rolled across the stage as the first distorted chord settled in. The lighting design was dense rather than decorative, building atmosphere through colour layering and shadow. The Smashing Pumpkins held a wide formation, with Billy Corgan positioned firmly at centre.

Photographing this 2024 date meant working through haze and saturated light, where detail could disappear quickly. As a UK live music photographer, I focused on silhouette, contrast and the interplay between backlighting and movement across the stage line.

The set felt immersive and steady, driven by texture and sustained tone rather than sudden shifts.
