Overview

I photographed Amyl and the Sniffers during their headline set at Bearded Theory Festival, working in the pit to capture the raw pace and unpredictability of their live performance. Their sets move fast, and my focus was on timing and proximitytracking Amy Taylors restless movement across the stage and the constant energy exchange between the band and the crowd.

Sharp lighting shifts and tight, compressed spaces demanded instinct over repetition, requiring quick reflexes to capture the moments as they happened. The band isnt particularly fond of photographers, so being able to shoot freely, without contracts or restrictions, felt like a rare privilege.

The images were created for Getty editorial and live music coverage, documenting the raw energy of a touring band at full volume.
