Overview

Deep blue tones settled across the stage before the first guitar line cut through the arena. The lighting design moved gradually rather than abruptly, building atmosphere through colour shifts and shadow. The Cure held a wide formation, letting space and pacing shape the mood.

Photographing this date meant working with duration as much as movement. As a UK live music photographer, I focused on silhouette, layered lighting and the contrast between stillness and slow transitions. Robert Smith remained central, often framed against wash lighting that softened the edges of the stage.

The performance felt immersive and unhurried, with atmosphere carrying as much weight as volume.
