Rina Sawayama’s performance at the O2 Academy Birmingham on 21 October 2022, part of her Hold the Girl Tour.

The Academy was packed and buzzing with excitement before Rina even took the stage. Fans arrived early, dressed boldly and celebrating individuality, giving the room the feel of both a concert and a safe, expressive communal space. Rina opened the show with “Minor Feelings”, stepping out into dramatic lighting and haze, clad head‑to‑toe in denim with a cowboy hat, accompanied by two dancers and backed by gusts of wind that accentuated the theatrical entrance.

First three songs finished much to soon for my liking, really wish I could have photographed the rest of this fun and energetic performance.
