Clean white front light and minimal staging kept the focus on movement and expression rather than spectacle. The arrangement was simple, allowing space for contrast between stillness and sudden shifts in tempo. Sparks maintained a deliberate pace, letting the structure of each track guide the room.

Photographing the set required attention to timing over scale. As a UK live music photographer, I focused on symmetry, negative space and the interplay between Russell Mael’s restrained gestures and Ron Mael’s composed presence at the keys.

The performance felt controlled and understated, with detail carrying more weight than volume.
