Skunk Anansie’s 25LIVE@25 tour celebrated 25 years of one of the UK’s most enduring and influential rock bands, and I had the pleasure of photographing them at O2 Academy.

I’ve been a fan since 1996, when Stoosh was released, and the band’s sound—anchored by Skin’s unmistakable voice—remains fresh and relevant today.

Despite the challenging lighting, often dominated by backlit and strobing effects, photographing this band is always a thrill. In most gigs with multiple members, I try to split my attention across the band, but with someone as magnetic as Skin, the focus naturally narrows. The rest of the band becomes part of the backdrop as I capture the star’s energy, presence, and connection with the audience.
