Photographing In This Moment at the Civic Hall in Wolverhampton (now The Halls) on the Black Widow tour in 2015.

It was my first time seeing them live, and I only had a vague idea of what they were aboutso I went in not really knowing what to expect. What I did know was that they were letting photographers shoot the entire set, which almost never happens. By the end of the night, I couldnt believe how lucky that turned out to be.

From the moment they hit the stage, it was clear this wasnt just a gigit was a full-on production. Maria Brink completely owned it, dead centre, commanding every second. There were costume changes, dramatic lighting, props, the whole lotevery few songs felt like a new scene. From behind the camera, it kept you on your toes in the best way. Just when you thought youd got the shot, something bigger and more striking would happen.

Theres something special about photographing a performance like thatwhere the visuals are just as powerful as the music. And as someone whos always had a soft spot for female artists, watching Maria in her element was something else entirely. Confident, theatrical, and completely unapologetic.

Being able to shoot the whole set meant I could really settle into it, experiment a bit, and actually enjoy the flow of the show instead of rushing through three songs and being ushered out. Honestly, it ended up being one of the most fun and memorable nights Ive had since picking up a camera.
