The Vamps
The Vamps
Bright pop, tight staging

Overview
Overview
The Vamps photographed at the Utilita Arena Birmingham in 2014 during the Meet the Vamps Tour.
This tour was the first major headline arena-style outing for The Vamps, visually it had the feel of a young band discovering the scale of large venues while still keeping the loose, energetic spirit of a guitar group. It was a lively, movement-heavy show built around band chemistry, fan interaction, and bright pop lighting rather than elaborate stage theatrics.
From the photo pit, the setup provided clear sightlines across the whole band, with minimal clutter blocking the frame. The visuals were colourful but not overwhelming, meaning the performers remained the focus rather than the stage machinery. Bradley Simpson was usually positioned centre stage, moving between the microphone stand and the front edge of the stage. James McVey frequently stepped forward for guitar moments or crossed the stage toward the centre while Connor Ball bounced around the stage with a relaxed, playful energy. Tristan Evans, positioned on the rear riser, provided a strong visual anchor, often framed dramatically by lighting from behind the kit. This constant movement meant there was always something happening, someone jumping, turning, or engaging the crowd and that's what makes a concert fun to shoot.
