Photographing Gary Numan at O2 Academy Birmingham during the Telekon 45th Anniversary Tour in 2025 felt like capturing something suspended between past and future—an artist revisiting a defining moment while still sounding unmistakably modern.

From the first frame, the stage aesthetic set the tone. Unlike the bright, playful chaos of some shows, this was all control, precision, and atmosphere. The lighting leaned heavily into deep shadows, stark whites, and cold blues, occasionally punctured by harsh strobes. It created a high-contrast environment where Numan often appeared as a silhouette first, a figure second.
