The Worlds Collide Tour was a major co-headlined arena tour featuring Evanescence and Within Temptation, originally announced pre-COVID and delayed multiple times before finally taking place in late 2022. I photographed their Birmingham date at Utilita Arena.

Evanescence opened the night, their set leaned on heavier, atmospheric rock production — pounding drums, layered guitars and Amy Lee’s emotive vocals driving much of the show’s intensity.  Visuals were generally moody and dramatic, less elaborate than those of Within Temptation who with a visually striking, symphonic-themed performance packed with dramatic staging, props and pyrotechnics. Sharon den Adel being lifted on a hoop swing during All I Need  was pretty cool and I'm glad I was able to hang around to catch it.
