Photographing The Sleeping Beauty by Birmingham Royal Ballet at The Mayflower Theatre in Southampton in 2024 was pure immersion. From the sweeping corps de ballet to the principals’ soaring lifts, every moment demanded precision and timing to capture the elegance, drama, and storytelling on stage. I worked to anticipate jumps, partnered sequences, and grand allegro movements, balancing wide-stage compositions with intimate shots of expression, gesture, and costume detail. The light, music, and movement combined to create frames that feel alive—every extension, every turn frozen at its peak.
