During dress rehearsal for Black Sabbath – The Ballet at the Birmingham Hippodrome, I worked with the Birmingham Royal Ballet to document the production ahead of opening night.

The rehearsal brought together classical discipline and the legacy of Black Sabbath. I focused on timing, line and the interaction between choreography and lighting, working quietly around the stage to capture moments of tension and release.

The imagery was created for press and promotional use, reflecting both the scale of the production and the precision of the dancers. As a Birmingham-based dance photographer, this commission combined theatre, music heritage and performance in one of the city’s most significant venues.
