Behind the Scenes
Overview
Crufts is never just about the ring. In 2020, my focus shifted towards the people behind the leads — the owners, handlers and families who bring as much character as the dogs themselves.
From proud smiles and nervous final touches to the quiet moments between classes, I documented the human side of the world’s largest dog show. Outfits, themed coats, colour coordinated jackets, dogs in pushchairs, dogs in jumpers — there is humour and devotion everywhere you look. It is a celebration of companionship as much as competition.
Working at Crufts demands instinct and speed. The lighting shifts from bright arenas to softer concourses. Expressions change in a second. My role is to move lightly through it all, capturing authentic moments that feel natural and unposed.
For brands, organisers and media partners, this kind of coverage matters. It tells a fuller story of the event — the atmosphere, the community, the personality. That is what I aim to deliver: event photography that feels alive, human and true to the day.
