Low, directional lighting carved the stage into narrow planes before the first beat settled in. There was little excess in the setup. The focus remained on rhythm, repetition and collective movement. Young Fathers held a close formation at centre stage, building momentum through subtle shifts rather than overt spectacle.

Photographing this 2023 date meant working in restrained light and watching for small changes in stance and expression. As a UK live music photographer, I focused on timing between percussive peaks and moments of stillness, balancing shadow with clarity where possible.

The performance felt concentrated and disciplined, driven by pulse and cohesion throughout.
