The Who performed the finale of their "The Who with Orchestra 2023" UK tour with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra at the Royal Sandringham Estate in Norfolk

A full orchestral line stretched across the rear of the stage, lit in cool blue before the band stepped forward. The production was expansive but structured, with clear divisions between strings, rhythm section and lead vocals. The Who moved within that framework, allowing space for dynamics to build rather than forcing pace. Photographing this 2023 date meant balancing scale and clarity. I worked between wide compositions that showed the orchestra and tighter frames when Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend stepped into focus. They both set to work on wowing those who had turned out to see this iconic band go through some of their biggest records in an impressive two hour set.

Seeing The Who live for the first (and probably last) time was definitely worth a trek to Norfolk.
