I grew up listening to The Rolling Stone because they were my mum's favourite band so, to finally see these legends live onstage felt like I finally made it and I was really excited to tell her all about it as she never had the opportunity to see them in concert.

I've never been to RICOH Arena in Coventry before and this was the band's first major concert in the city in decades.

The stage felt vast but also small at the same time as the shooting position was at the end of a rather long walkway so, long lens was a must.  

The eternal optimist that I am, I kept my fingers crossed that Mick will venture to the front during our allocated shooting time for some close up ops and he granted my wish running down the walkway and stood right in front of me, only for a few moments but long enough to get the shots I was after.

Big arena shows, especially when there's a runway and movement is limited can definitely be a hit or miss.  You can plan/hope all you want but at the end of the day, you also need a bit of luck and when it all works out in your favour it feels like winning a lottery.
