I had the opportunity to photograph PANIC! AT THE DISCO at Utilita Arena Birmingham, commissioned by PRG UK, who provided the lighting and technical crew for this highly visual production across the UK and EU. The show was a masterclass in colourful, dynamic stage design, combining multi-layered lighting rigs, LED screens, moving heads, and intricate stage effects to create a vibrant and immersive concert experience.

My objective was to document the production while highlighting the technical and visual aspects of the performance. To achieve a variety of perspectives, I photographed from multiple vantage points throughout the arena. The lighting design was particularly striking. PRG UK’s rig featured layered color washes and moving heads with precise beam control, all choreographed to complement the music and elevate key moments in the set. Capturing this required careful attention to exposure settings, shutter speeds, and white balance to preserve the vibrancy of the stage visuals without overexposing performers or losing crowd detail.
