KK’s Steel Mill was a fittingly raw setting for the first-ever Bloodstock Winter Gathering. The concrete floors, steel beams, and winter chill gave the room a gritty, industrial feel. Fans filtered in slowly at first but by the time the first band hit the stage, the energy was tangible.

The day flew by but in a less frenzied way than the summer edition as I wasn't rushing from stage to stage with the camera as much as required at a bigger scale event, I was able to pace myself and even had the time to chat to people.

Packing up my camera at the end, I felt like I’d witnessed a festival in its infancy—full of energy, warmth, and community. The first Bloodstock Winter Gathering had a sense of intimacy that made the industrial space feel welcoming rather than overwhelming. Bring on the 2026 winter gathering.
