Crowds gathered early along the parade route as colour and music moved through the city. Birmingham Pride 2022 marked a full return to large-scale celebration, with expanded staging, dense attendance and a renewed sense of public presence across the centre of Birmingham.

Photographing the event meant working between moving parade formations and static stage moments. I focused on participation and reaction — banners, costume detail and exchanges between performers and audience — alongside wider frames that captured the scale of the gathering.

The atmosphere carried momentum throughout the weekend, shaped by visibility, community and sustained energy across public space.
