Dress rehearsal, London debut
Overview
Soft stage light revealed the line of swans before the corps moved into formation. Photographed during the dress rehearsal and photocall for Swan Lake at the London Coliseum on 28 August 2024, the production marked The State Ballet of Georgia’s first-ever London visit in the company’s 175-year history.
The rehearsal setting allowed space to focus on symmetry, spacing and classical precision without the presence of a full audience. As a UK dance photographer, I worked to capture the uniformity of the corps de ballet alongside the clarity of principal movement at full extension.
The images reflect the discipline of classical staging and the significance of a company debut on a London stage.
