Low evening sun cut across the park before stage lighting took over. The Big Smoke 2024 unfolded across a single day, centred on electronic and alternative line-ups with a strong production focus. Multiple stages operated within a contained footprint, keeping movement constant from early afternoon through to headline close.

Photographing the event meant balancing wide environmental frames with tighter DJ and live performance coverage. As a UK festival photographer, I focused on crowd density, lighting transitions and the shift from daylight to full production after dark.

The atmosphere built steadily into the evening, driven by rhythm and collective momentum across the site.
